Hey Madden community! This week's top 10 list is a bit special. We teamed up with Drini, one of the greatest Madden players of all time, to break down the top 10 pass rushers currently available in Madden Ultimate Team. Let's get right to the rankings:
Top 10 Pass Rushers in MUT 23
1. 93 OVR Aaron Donald (RE)
The best pass rush ability combo in the game is Edge Threat with Double or Nothing. It normally costs 6 AP, but with Donald's discounts, he can pull it off for just 3 AP total. If you're facing opponents that don't run double Edge Protector, you will absolutely dominate with Donald and this ability combo. On top of that Donald has 88 speed with 92 finesse moves and 93 power moves. He's the best pass rusher in the game right now.
2. 93 OVR Micah Parsons (LOLB)
At 92 speed, Parsons is by far the fastest pass rusher in MUT. He also has 93 finesse moves to help get off blocks. He's currently the only player in the game that can equip Edge Threat Elite, which is a combination of Edge Threat and Under Pressure. He even gets it at a discount for just 3 AP. If the opposing QB doesn't have Fearless equipped, he's going to have a bad time against Parsons.
3. 93 OVR Jason Taylor (RE)
Taylor has the highest finesse moves rating (95) of any player in MUT. He also has matching pass rush traits (Pass Rush Spin Move and Pass Rush Swim Move) that determine which moves he's going to use when controlled by the CPU. The best part about Taylor might be the fact that he can get Unpredictable for 0 AP. Drini says it's one of the best ways to get past an Edge Protector at offensive tackle. He can also get Double or Nothing for just 2 AP in a separate slot. Taylor is definitely one of the top pass rushers in the game.
4. 92 OVR Leonard Floyd (LOLB)
Floyd gets the same Edge Threat and Double or Nothing combo as Donald, but it costs 1 AP more. It's still worth running at 4 AP. Floyd also has 90 speed and 93 acceleration to fly at opposing QBs after he sheds a block. He just got a Redux item as well which brought his price down quite a bit.
5. 93 OVR Clay Matthews (ROLB)
Matthews is a slightly slower (88 SPD) version of Floyd. Matthews also gets Edge Threat and Double or Nothing for 4 AP total. He has 91 finesse moves and 90 power moves along with all three pass rush traits. Keep in mind you'll have to power him all the way up the get the ability discounts.
6. 93 OVR Emmanuel Ogbah (LE)
Ogbah is a power rusher. He has 93 power moves, 92 strength, and the Pass Rush Bull Rush Move trait. He can equip your choice of Double or Nothing or Edge Threat for 2 AP. In another slot, he also can equip El Toro for just 1 AP which goes well with his ratings and traits.
7. 92 OVR Myles Garrett (RE)
Garrett can equip the Edge Threat and Double or Nothing combo for 5 AP. Obviously it's better for 3 or 4 AP on some of the players higher on this list, but it's still a great combo and worth considering at 5 AP. Garrett is just a well rounded pass rusher. He can do it all and he has all three pass rush traits.
8. 92 OVR Too Tall Jones (LE)
While Too Tall's ability discounts aren't as good as the other players on this list, his biggest strength is his physical size at 6'9". Drini recommends moving him to DT to take up space in the middle and even when he doesn't get to the QB, he's able to impact the play by taking up space. He's going to do well against the run, and with 92 finesse moves and 91 power moves, he has a good chance to bring pressure up the middle.
9. 91 OVR T-Sizzle (LOLB)
Suggs gets the same 0 AP Unpredictable ability discount that Taylor gets. Any time a player gets a decent ability for 0 AP, that player should be considered for a spot on your squad. He has respectable pass rush ratings across the board and at 87 speed, he's significantly faster than he has been in previous years. He's also one of the most affordable players on this list at around 200,000 coins on all platforms.
10. 92 OVR The Freak (LE)
Kearse is another well-rounded pass rusher. He's fast (89 SPD, 92 ACC) with 93 finesse moves and 90 power moves. He can equip Speedster for 0 AP. Normally that's not an ability we would recommend, but when it's free, why not?
