Cris here. I absolutely love garden green beans and I love cooking them all day in my slow cooker. Mikey made you a video of this deliciously simple recipe.

This recipe is so easy and perfect for cooking up a big batch of green beans for a potluck or as a delicious side dish for a weeknight dinner. The bacon, onion and broth along with the cooked down beans create an amazing dish that will take you back to grandma’s kitchen table. Notes on Cooking Fresh Green Beans

  • We use co*cktail onions and bacon bits to make this a dump and go recipe. You can fry up regular bacon and crumble and slice up a yellow onion instead if you would prefer.
  • You will need a large slow cooker 6 qt or larger to hold all your beans.
  • If you are using fresh beans from the garden you will want to wash and trim your beans beforehand. If you cannot get your hands on some fresh beans from the garden, you can oftentimes find them at the grocery store in the produce aisle.

      Hi Albert-
I’ve got some good news! If you click on the blue “8” in the “servings” section of the recipe card, it lets you adjust the servings. You will need to use a smaller slow cooker than listed in the recipe if you reduce the servings, but it should allow you to be able to adjust most of our recipes to your needs. Hope that helps!
